We were given an activity where we had to use the principle of balance and use 5 elements to show how a composition looks when it follows the principles of symmetrical and asymmetrical balance.

Here is what I made:

For Symmetrical Balanced Composition

When the frame is divided by a vertical line, both sides of the composition are equal in weight and balanced therefore being symmetrical to one another

For Asymmetrical Balanced Composition

When the frame is divided by a vertical line, we see one half of he composition has a white background while other is colored(therefore has a value).

The left side of the composition has shapes blurred out(so that the weight look less). On the right side of composition we see crossed lines and dots as elements that give weight.

The textured diamond is kept more towards right to balance out weight throughout.

When placed together
